I'm looking to purchase a C5 Z06, and I won't drive it every day but it will be driven a good bit. Is there anything I need to look out for, or any suggestions you guys might have?
DRIVE IT. A lot. It will not kill the car to be driven, that is what they are made for. Stay off of ice and snow, and remember that summer high performance tires start to lose traction when the temperatures go below 40 degrees F. Enjoy the car. They are great.
I've always wanted one, and I actually prefer the C5 look to the new ones. I just posted my supercharged F150 for sale, and I may be selling me H/C/I mustang coupe... Looks like I'm switching teams haha

Hey Kyle - I agree with the others - once you buy it, drive it. Look the car over like you would any other - if you need to, have a Corvette mechanic go over the car with you. See if maintenance records are available.
I've got a few Word files, including a Corvette Buyers Guide, that may interest you. If you'd like a copy, PM me your e-mail address.
good luck, you will love it. Mine may become my dd in a few months as I'm getting tired of maintaining, servicing, washing, waxing both cars--I never ever have my 2 kids in the back of my G35--I's just me. That's what the family SUV is for.
So my G sedan is just for me to have a break from shifting on a mild 38mi roundtrip. Occasionally if there is a fender bender up ahead and I'm in my Z06--that's really the only time it gets to be too much shifting--but in regular driving as I approach intersections--I depress the clutch pedal throw it in -N- and I give my clutch foot plenty of rest.
When I'm not in my Vette, I sorely miss her, it makes all other vehicles boring to drive. Nothing on the street short of an LS3/LS7s,porsche 911s, GTRs (all cars you rarely see, heck I rarely see other Zs and this is Houston)etc are even anywhere close to Z in performance, style, fun factor.
I won't mind driving her in the rain as I will slow down and I have new tires + she is sooo easy to wash imo, despite being lower.
Make sure your vette has the col. lock bypass, shorty antenna, and a mild drop on stock bolts.
