Default Problems with hideaway headlights

Recently my C-5 has developed a hideaway headlight problem.
When the headlights close the electric motor the closes them can be still heard running for at least 3 seconds after the lights are fully closed.
You can also hear what sounds like the plastic gears grinding as well.
It is very loud. Anybody else had this problem?

Todd

Common problem your plastic gears need to be replaced.

Replace the plastic gears with the brass ones and you should be good to go.

Been there, done that. It's an easy fix. I have a spare brass gear waiting for when the other side strips.
