WD-40. Spray liberally and let it sit for a little while.
Also works great for tree sap
I ran over a freshly painted yellow street line, and got a peppering of yellow against my 2003 Anniversary red paint on my rocket panels. Two hours and a can of WD-40 and a cut in half credit card it was all gone. The paint was perfect under the yellow specks. I finished it was a fresh coat of wax.
Does anybody have any ideas how to get gum off without scratching/ harming the paint. I must have driven through gum yesterday and now it is on my fender behind the rear wheel. Unfortunately, it is too hot in PA right now for the gum to harden and it is still gooey. I tried to pick it off without success and washing made it worse. Any ideas? Thanks.
I have never encountered anything that a little spit and elbow grease won't remove. My suggestion is to lick it off. Gum won't stick if it is covered in spit!!!
OK...My real answer is a can of Bug and Tar remover from Autozone, or Goo Gone...But someone mentioned Goof Off had xylene in it. Is Goo Gone the same thing, and is it bad for paint? I have used Goo Gone on my paint, but maybe I shouldn't.
