windsheild question

Default windsheild question

at the bottom of my c5 windsheild the plastic piece along the hole window that the wipers set on is buckled a little so it is not laying flat against the windshield is that going to affect water going in there when it rains or i wash it !!!!i hope not just bought the car.

Well, if it is not sitting flush against the window it would allow more water in behind the cowl, but I'm not so sure it is totally watertight anyway.

Default Goop it

If you mean the very thin black plastic trim piece that should be against the windshield glass and also hit the large plastic cowl under the glass simply use some waterproof Goop to seal it. Had my windshield replaced several years ago. Noticed a couple places where this trim piece was coming loose. Gooped it and forgot it.

Default windsheild question

If the cowl has been removed and not replaced correctly, it will not seat against the glass. There are clip like hold downs on the bottom of the cowl that seat at the bottom of the windsheild. Make sure they are seated correctly.
