Default Intro thread WITH pics!!

Hi guys, Andy here from Indianapolis. This is my first thread on this forum as I have recently purchased my first Corvette at the ripe old age of 36. It's a red, 2002 coupe with an automatic. It was a one-owner car with 8 pages of service records, clean Carfax and I got a good deal on it. I have been a gearhead since I was a fetus and previous cars that I have owned include an '86 Turbo T-Type, '72 split bumper Camaro, Subaru STi and five different 240SX's.

Anyway, made it to the track to lay down a baseline this past Tuesday so I would have an idea of what my mods get me when I get them. My best time was a 13.5 at 103. That's with a 2.1 60" time. With some traction, I'm pretty confident that I could shave a couple tenths as I was getting wheelspin, imagine that. My TCS/ABS light is on, was intermittent but now is mostly on, which I'm guessing is a ground terminal problem from the excellent sticky in the Tech forum, so I'll have to investigate that. Be nice if that's all it is.

Now it's time to make that auto run!

Well it's nice to see a fellow Hoosier. Been a long long time since I've seen that track. Cool that you got to get out there and enjoy some runs. Car looks great!

Your time is in line with a "normal" stock C5's time. Enjoy the car.

You know, most of the time I would agree with that statement. This guy however is a good dude and I literally had to throw a sales pitch on him to get him to the track. Hell, it just like closing a deal to get him to come out. That car has a stripped interior and made 345 at the wheels on pump gas and 18psi. He was shutting down early so as not to get booted from the track and still went through the traps in 14.0 at 113mph. He'll be damn quick once he's sorted and actually driving it hard.

I was wondering about my trap speed. It seemed a tad low, but the ET was in line with what I thought.

Thank you guys again for the warm welcome.
