The big factor is that I always pay cash and let them know that when I make my offer. I also make sure they know that they can have a cashier's check in 15 minutes from the time they say yes. Financing of used cars has gotten a lot tougher and the buyer has to have nearly perfect credit today so a cash buyer is in a better position to deal.

These people were tired of the people that wanted the car but either wanted to trade something in or have them carry the financing. I basically just offered them $3,000 less than what they had wanted and let them know that was my final offer and would be good unless I found another car in the interim and that I was looking at other cars also. It took them 5 days but they finally emailed me with the acceptance and I picked up the car that afternoon.

The most important thing I have found is to make your offer based on what you feel would be a very good deal and fair for you and then stick with it.

You have to be ready to walk away or you will end up paying to much!

Also had to say I love your yellow vert.

Just sold one of mine a very nice yellow 86 Pace Car Vert that I had owned for 18 years to a collector in Scottsdale, that is by far the longest I have owned any of my 25 Vettes. Just had a hard time letting that one go.
