A few months back I installed new C5 Z06 wheels on the Vette. I bought new TPM sensors from Gene Cully. After the tires were installed I tried to train them using the proper directions. I could never get the things to train and they were just reading XXX on the pressure so I figures I’d deal with it later since I wasn’t having to deal with the DIC every time I started the car. Well yesterday all of a sudden the right rear decides to tell me that there is 0 pressures in the tire. I went over to a buddy’s place that has theJ41760 programming tool. We still can’t get the things to train. The horn will never beep when placed on the left front valve stem. Has anyone else had this issue? Could the left front have a bad battery and not allow the programming to start? I’m thinking about just taking the car to EnglandGreen and having the dang things programmed out.
Try one of the other wheels to see if it's the LF sensor; you don't have to start on the LF for test purposes. Another option for trouble shooting is pull up next to another vette in your YR range and start the sequence using the other vette; done this myself. Ways to find out if it's the tire sensors or the car module.

they had to be brand new if you got them from Gene. I rather doubt there is a spent battery in any of them...I am running my original 1997 sensors and they are still working after all these years with the original batteries...best of luck and I am sure Gene will see your post and help you out.
my left front started doing this same thing to me a few weeks ago but i can retrain it but it still reads the incorrect pressure.
the module should be fine as long as your remote and other tpm's work from what ive been told.
you havent put any additives into the tire like slime have you?

I've tried starting at all 3 of the other wheels and still no luck.

No there are no additives in the wheels. My Key Fob's work fine.
it almost sounds like you got the wrong year sensors for your car if you can not get any to train, but if they are the wrong years then i dont see why one would be reading 0

Possible. Bring it by David. We'll try to train them traditionally and then see if the Tech 2 will do it.

I just installed mine last week, and I couldnt get them to train.
After spending $140.00 to have to new tires mounted on the new rims, and the new TPS, I had to walk away from the car.
They have to be trained in sequence so if you dont enter the programming mode they wont train. No beep means its not entered training mode. My guess is you need a bigger magnet.
Bought 4 from gene when i replaced my tires. Lf would not train but other three would. Finally got several magnets & together they got the 1st 1 to beep & i was in business. Frustrated as hell for awhile.
You need a really strong magnet. I trained the new TPSs I got from Gene in a couple of minutes. I use the magnet out of an old sub woofer. It'll pick a 10 p nail out of a alligator's butt, through his jaws........

Exactly, When I got my new sensors, I thought, "how?" Looked in my shed, saw a few these old *** speakers I have, with BIG magnets , first time around the car, all sensors trained. Actually, the first TPS, damn near couldn't get the magnet off the rim, gotten too close with it...

How did you get passed the left front that didnt work to get to the other three?
