If it's a vert, window valet, if you want to call it a mod. Best mod for the vert and not much money. The best feature is the windows up and down feature. 3 clicks on the FOB and both windows go up without having to put the key back in ignition switch. 3 clicks on FOB and windows down, music on from across the parking lot. Makes top up, top down soooo much easier. Oh yea it locks and unlocks car at the same time too. Chevy should have made this a standard feature from the get go. There are other features to it also, second best is automaticly unlocking the doors from setting parking brake or "park" (if auto), or both, while engine is still running. Enjoy topless driving
Double din Kenwood stereo, amp, sub, and new speakers. The following week HID headlights, LED Halo tail lights, LED reverse, etc. This weekend new GHL Bullet exhaust and 3.42 differential....
Corsa exhaust, which then led to an orgy of stupid spending: C5R 427, first NA, then with an F1C Procharger, LS7 heads, DRM coilovers, Corbeau seats, on and on and on.
SkipShift Eliminator,Column Lock Bypass, and Exhaust plate, about a week after I brought the Vette Home.
I'd of had them sooner, but I found "The" Vette about 6 months before I expected.
Bought my '03 coupe in Feb. of this year. I added a new stereo (kenwood) a couple of months later as I couldn't live with the FM transmitter for my iPod.
Vette7587... You said that you were looking for some ideas, so here's what I've done since the above and what I'm looking into / planning on...
Have done and in progress:
* Home-made flush mount on the tail lights (from a DIY on the forum)
* Hood seal (at the front edge) - bought some appropriate weather stripping from Home Depot and did it in a matter of minutes. Works great!
* Did the flip-tie mod on the air box about three weeks ago. I drove through a turd-floater the other day (several inches of running water over the entire roadway) and had no problems with wet filter or water ingestion. At least, none that I could see.
* Did heat shielding of the interior (reflectix) over the 4th of July weekend - didn't get to the doors and dash though.
* Will be doing screens all 'round, as well as the heat shielding in the doors and dash, this weekend. I'm going to be shielding the bottom side of the dash pad as well as wrapping the AC ducts that are mounted to it (and any that I can reach with the dash pad off). The overall goal is to protect the electronics in the dash and to have less heat exchange through the walls of the HVAC ducting - like wrapping the ducts in your house. I'm going to try to take before and after temp readings of the under-dash temps (if the weather cooperates) to see if it makes any difference. With the Texas heat, any insulation should be better than none. Might actually make this a write-up if anyone's interested.
Future Mods:
* I'm looking into what it would cost to get a Z06 diff and a better TC installed
* I'm considering a supercharger, but have NO IDEA what all that entails. I'm thinking that it'll be several years in the future.
* Have considered heads / cams, but not sure yet. Might stay stock.
* When it's time for new tires, I'll be getting new wheels as well - still have the stock '03 wheels.
* Once I make a decision on the diff, I will be getting it dyno tuned.
