After driving the other night in the rain and not being able to see ****...... it's time! Glad to see these lights finally finished. Have you come up with a total price yet so we can prepare for it?

Yeah, I remember that when I first drove at night in the rain with the oem headlamps. Terrible!

We don't have pricing yet. That and all details will be posted in the group purchase thread as soon as we have the shrouds available.

I've been asking for months and months, actually years. While I appreciate the work it has taken to develop the shrouds, the repeated "Hang in there, the shrouds are on their way" has gotten old, very old. I've tried very hard to be patient, but after 3 years I have about given up. The lights are great, and I understand the argument that shrouds have no compact on the performance of the lights, nobody notices because it's dark when the lights are on, etc, etc. They'd look so much better with shrouds, but after this long I pretty much have given up.

, It's almost time to get a newer car and I'm still waiting on these. I've been riding without them this long and nothing has happened,so I might do without now. L8R ZFLASH

I'm sure there were plenty of other mods that could have been done until these got finished. That's the way I look at it. I'll get them sooner or later.

I've re-tired twice waiting for these shrouds (and I've also turned 65)

Really no need to bump the thread every time you guys get pissed off at waiting. Some of us are subscribed waiting for updates from the supplier, not your rant.

I would give them a break! I probably ranted a time or two over the years. We have been waiting over 3 years for this. Funny, it was one of my first mods. and 3 years later it will be close to the last thing needed to finish her up. Besides if somebody doesn't rant some of us completely forget we are waiting for these (its like oh yea - the shrouds). Anyway, I know JW and Michael will get them out soon, they have followed these the entire time. Thanks guys!

Honestly guys, I just pass on what the owner of the fabrication shop tells me. I filter it somewhat (a lot actually) for actual progress reports, but I usually just get reasons it didn't happen when he says/said it will. Quite tiring and at times stressful.

For instance; as of right now I was told on Wed night a package with ten completed sets (that I emailed a UPS return shipping label for,) was dropped off at the shipper. To my knowledge as soon as that package is handed across the counter it's scanned and electronically enters the system whereby I receive an email notification. Nothing has entered the system, with no real explanation from the owner. A text promise to track the issue down yesterday, no answer of the phone call this morning or return call or text.
[UPDATE* He just texted me he is on his way to the shippers to see what's up in person.]
This has been nearly a daily script with little change in outcome since Dec. Pete spent much of the late summer and fall up until about mid-Nov helping me (while I was busy with fire season) doing the same dance and was even more frustrated than I.

Reality is this guy does incredible, high quality work. Work worth waiting for. Work I believe he is trying to make as perfect as possible as to set a standard for both our and the market's expectation as well as his own reputation. He may have expanded too quickly and accepted work he thought he could hire folks to accomplish and discovered hiring and training someone to do what he does/knows is really difficult, especially considering his skill level, knowledge and standards are high. Simply put he is a skilled tech and struggles with the customer service and employee training side of making his skill and passion a business. He hasn't found (yet) the correct mix of individuals to succeed to a level we might consider as standard let alone what "we" Corvette enthusiasts would expect. He is a CF member who has done business with many on this site and his business is up on Facebook.

It will get done. PM me if you need more details...

Thanks to all who are subscribed and following along for the updates. We appreciate the support and interest!

Just an opinion but, its absolutely logical to be stressed about how long this is taking, the repeated "updates" and (what I consider to be) good faith estimates of when they will be available, however, it does need to be said that Mike is not GM, he didn't design the OEM lights that you have. He looked at the problem (as we all did) wanted better (as we all did) and . . . did something about it. Raise your hand if you're in that last group

Others have worked on this problem and found their solution and are happy with what they've done. We here (involved in this project) apparently chose this approach as what most appealed to us. That's a choice, it was not imposed on anyone, it was a personal choice that said "yeah.....that's what I want". Well, when you re the 'wanter" not the "doer" you may find it frustrating but you kind of have to wait on the doer getting the work done. Its frustrating, but it is what it is.

I still think this is the overall best solution to the problem (for me, from what Ive seen, and Ive probably seen them all) so while we love these cars and want to see them updated to continue to enjoy them.....we "wanters" wait while the "doers" do.

The wanting, understandable; the frustration, very understandable; the "tired of waiting and am going elsewhere" in an effort to somehow speed up the process....pointless.

Enjoy the car. If you can get this extra cool thing great, but it will come when it will come.

I don't speak for anyone but myself, that was all opinion and should not be construed as connected with Mike or JW. Happy motoring all.

I agree. Not like I've had the cash to buy them anyways!!!
Hey Mike, you gonna be down in Sac anytime soon? Would love to see your lights now, assuming you have a finished shroud installed.

Hey Randy! Been awhile bradda, Howzit?
I actually only have the pre-production prototype(s) I used for pictures and important fit feedback for the fabricator as well as an uncleared, untrimmed set I received for production quality verification. I was contemplating trimming and painting the unfinished set speedway white for preliminary installation instruction pictures until I can get the original pdf install instruction document updated early this spring.

I'm pretty certain I will be in your neck of the woods sometime this year, I'll be sure to let you know...

I wanted to share the shroud production pictures I received today.
I think it's important to make a distinction between being skeptical of what the final product will look like as opposed to whether or not it is even being made.

Production Molds.

Just out of the mold.

Various stages of finish...

Much respect,
Michael

I agree with all of the above and I still have faith; even Michael will confirm this (although it was flagging a while back). But am I impatient? Hell yes! "I want these on the car before it hits the streets this spring.
