Default Clock problem

My 2002 6spd coupe has a bose cd radio that the clock seems to work, yet I have had to reset the clock a couple of times (it was off by several hours). I have had no other issues. The car has new battery as of last week, could this be the problem? Thanks Chris

Do you mean the new battery a prob?

I can see that you would have to reset it once after the new battery install, but that should be all.

Either your new battery is bad (which happens) or you have a bad battery connection. Please note that there is more than one place it connects. At the battery itself of course, also where the battery cable connects to the solenoid and the cable coming from the solenoid to the fuse box. Also, the negative cable from the battery which either connects to the engine block or the frame (I don't remember, but the C-6 it connects to the block).

Probably a bad ground connection somewhere, or a battery beginning to fail.

I would have my battery "load tested" to rule that our first.

Good Luck

Also take a look at the cables themselves. Two batteries ago I had a problem where the cables were attached at each end, and torqued properly on the battery and stud, but the crimp connection on the lug at the end of the cable had play in it.

So even if its tight on the bolt, you may get intermittent connection problems, which...can kill the new battery.

If you take the ring off the stud there should be no play as you hold it and jiggle the cable.
