Default Vette Running Great

It had been relatively humid around the Niagara area lately as I am sure has been the case around much of the eastern half of central North America. However, tonight, the air is comparatively drier with a temperature of 72° F. Just drove home and I must say, the Vette rode really nicely. With the air being relatively dense, the pistons fired really well. The engine was very responsive.

That's why I bought a Vette.

Because of the humidity that I mentioned, this has only happened several times since I got the Vette approx. one month ago.

Just wanted to share.

Know what you are talking about!! The Greater St.Louis area is well know for HOTTT Humid summers!! We've been getting stretches between 90-100 since mid June,,with heat indexes 100-110(with the humidity) pretty common!! That is what we have again this week!! Only thing that saddens me is that I frequently need to run the A/C which does take a little edge off of performance!! Still far and away prefer my vette over ANYTHING else!!! I will often endure some pretty warm temps for windows down non-A/C motoring!! God I love this car!!!

Got to love it when the car runs like it should. And congrats on your recent purchase.

Is that Forced Induction??Sorry,,couldn't resist!!Just a side note,,if you have the opportunity to run it WOT for a few passes,,the stock computer will actually "learn you are running hard,,and will temporally adjust to the full throttle air fuel ratios and actually pick up HP and TQ,,,for a while till you return to normal driving and it starts backing things down. A couple years ago they used my car on a dyno display at the NHRA Mid-west Nationals here,, and after 13 pulls(3 the first time,,and 2 every hour thereafter). After the 13 pulls,, it picked up almost 15 horses and 19 lb.ft.!! Ran great for a while,,turned a 13.08/110.25 the next Tuesday,,but local driving de-tuned it after a while. Nice thing de-tuned is STILL a wold above almost everything else!!! Nothing better than a windows down(Mine is a FRC)evening cruise or better yer an early morning trip to the Golf course!! I try to drive "open window" as much as possible!! Makes the experience SOOOO much better!!

There are times when I drive my Vette during the summer here in Florida and when I park it in the garage, there is a lot of heat still emitting from the engine. Sort of like running a race horse during high humidity.

I long for a nice cool, sub 60 degree run every year about this time, however I have at least 3 more months to go.

I hear ya. In the vert I just fly down the highway and take it all in. There's nothing like the feeling of a Corvette.

Ya, I have a pretty heavy foot. I understand how the computer learns your driving habits and adjust accordingly. I can't say that I run it WOT; but I often punch it. Just had the car for a month and it's getting lighter and lighter feeling to me as I learn to control her better. Not accustomed to driviing a V8 since the 1980s. Coming from 4 bangers, it takes a little getting used to. Easy to wipe out if I punch it all of the time. Can just imagine what the Z06 is like. Ha ha.
