Default Oil Catch Can Observation

Guys:

I installed a CCA Oil catch can a few weeks ago.

I'm not here to start a debate on the catch cans.. just a couple observation I noticed.

1.) Less black specs on the rear of the car after driving a while.
2.) WAY less black deposits inside my exhaust tips. I polish the inside of my tips so I noticed that.

Anyone else notice the same after putting on a catch can ?

This is the first post that has actually made me want to install one.

Hopefully this one doesn't turn into the normal arguement.

I get the black spots on the rear too. Good to know that a catch can can reduce that. Thanks for heads up

Hmmm! Possibly going on to my "to do" list. Hope to see some more positive comments.

Mark, I did notice that there was less black spots on the rear facia, my car is white so I notice less spotting. I have B&B exhaust and cleaned the inside of the pipes last month for a big show. On Saturday night a guy joked with me about cleaning in inside and how clean they were, I did not clean them sine June and about 300 miles. I can only guess that it's the catch can that has made everything out back cleaner.

I noticed greatly reduced spots/tip dirt. So its gotta be doing good for the intake manifold.

Last time I had my throttle body off, I flashed a flash light into my intake manifold. There were "pools" of oil inside my intake. About the size of silver dollars or larger. I still want to take my throttle body off again and see if I can clean that out a bit.

I need to check mine. I get an ounce or two of oil every 3 or 4 thousand miles.

Don't have a catch can on mine yet, but I've seen them on other cars and yes, they do catch the oil very well. Hopefully will be getting one for mine in the near future.

I would say they are not hard to install. I followed Dave at Conceptual Polymers install, he was helpful and it worked out great. The can stays very cool as I have it installed.

I just installed as per Chips install instructions and all seems well. I do think I will try the turkey baster method to remove the caught oil tho.

Good observation - less going into Intake less going out the pipes and having to be burned by the cats

Thanks,Matt
