My C5 is very twitchy, if you hit a small pothole or bump, but the biggest problem is on the freeway, if i run over the little ruts, lines or imperfections that go along the lanes, the car wants to move hard over in either direction, it's very unstable and hard to drive, you sometimes don't know when you run through these things and it wants to yank the wheel away from me, i am on goodyear runflats, the car steers straight, so alignment is good, tire pressure is all the same, can someone explain why the C5's do this erattic behavior, thanks.
+1 I had the same problem BAD. To the point where is was scary to drive on uneven roads. I put some new hankocks and new c6 wheels and it honestly drives like a new car......
When the rubber gets worn down near the wear bars the C5 & other cars also like to wander following road contours. Not just run flats. My coupe darted really bad when the ZPs got worn. Now the next set that is non ZP, is starting to dart again. My trunk acts the same way with worn tires.
I have the same problem with my 03 Z06 I bought last year. Unless it is fresh asphalt the car darts all over following the traffic groves wore in the pavement. The dealer I bought the car from said all vettes drive like this but I have my doubts. I have PS2's on the car with the fronts at 50% and the rears are at the wear bars. The date codes are from 2006. The tires are wore evenly and the car drives straight so the alignment can't be too bad. This twitchness is so bad I wouldn't dare let anyone else drive the car. So is the consensus on the forum that new tires would cure alot of my problem? All opinions welcome...thanks guys.

Reason: spelling
Obviously, a few people have experienced a 'twitchy' feel, but with five C5s over 12 years it has not been my experience that the C5 is twitchy at all.
Mine was a little "twitchy" with Kumho runflats, when I replaced them with General UHP 's (non runflats) ALL the "twitchiness" went away, and so did all the tire noise .
I'm running on the run flats also and they are worn. I noticed the twitchiness in the car also, thought it was just the road....I think I will ditch the run flats and see if it corrects the problem.
Sounds like you have some bumpsteer. If you have selective ride control your shocks might need to be replaced. Some new Bilsteins cured my bumpsteer problems. Good luck.
I had a Chevy 1500 on 20's and it would pull all over the road. It has to do with low pro tires. The lower the tire height the worse it becomes. This is pretty normal, the problem is worse on more heavily traveled roads due to the ruts created in the road due to the high traffic.
For me coming from much heavier cars and the vette being so light with lots of power makes it very quick to respond to steering and road conditions. I attribute some of the "twitchy-ness" that I feel due to that. I did have runflats when I got the car and switched soon after and noticed better response too.
