I just ordered some fangs off the saccitycorvette.com web site and I saw they have a low seed fan controller that is wireless. You just wire it in (looks to take about 5 min) and you can turn your fans on with a key fob. my car is alway running hot in traffic and I think It would work good at the track to keep the car cool in the staging lines or the pits. Has anyone bought one of these yet? how well do you think it will work? thanks
I'm going to get one too, seems like a good idea for in-town driving, and the price isn't bad either-I don't think extra air flow through the radiator can ever be a bad thing.

Thanks for the tip,quickzosick
your welcome. did you see the Fangs they have? I ordered those too. These guy seem pretty innovative. I wonder what else they will come out with.

Waste of money. You can easily program the fans to come on at lower temps. In stop and go the fans are already on if the temps reach the low set point or if AC is on.
Running the fans when the WP is not running will only cool the radiator a little. Not enough to do any good as the temp will go right back up as soon as you start the engine.

if im not mistaken if the fans are running with the car off it will cool the water in your radiator but when you start your car the cold water with run through the engine and cool it down right? well I ordered one so I will let you guy new how well it works.

The block and coolant in the block heats up when you shut down.
Yes the slightly cooler water in the radiator will bring the temp down but the effect is negligible. When the water is not moving it does cool as well.
Now if you run an Electric Water Pump that runs when the fans run and the engine is off then it will make a difference.

Hi,
Our test at the drags showed that say when you come back to the staging area after a pass and you leave the fans running(low speed) that each time you start the car to move forward the cooled down radiator coolant flows into the engine and cools it down. Moving forward two or three times and your engine is quite cool or at least down to your thermostat temp by the time you get to the start line. Thats why a lot of people leave there hoods open so the hot air can escape to help cool the engine. Leaving the fans on will help keep the temps down close to the thermostat temp instead of waiting for the temp to go up high enough for the ECU to turn on the fans. So instead of the temp going up and down leaving the fans on will help keep the temp more consistent to help make power for the drags. Also after the fans pull all the heat off of the radiator the air flow will start pulling heat off of the engine. When I work on a hot engine I use a box fan to cool it down in a few minutes instead of waiting an hour or more, kind of the same idea.
In traffic leaving the fans on will help keep a lower temp instead of it going up till fans come on and down till they go off. I recommend using the Cool It! v2 only in traffic if its a really hot day to help maintain a lower temp. It wont go lower than your thermostat temp.
The Cool it! v2 is a way to have some control of your fans, it not meant to do the job of the ECU.
If you don’t think running the fans helps just ask Ranger here on the forum.
Hope this helps!
Thanks

I'm curious as to how I can easily reprogram my fans to come on at a lower temp on my 1998 Coupe-I was under the impression that I'd need a special programmer,or have to take it to a shop that has one.
Not that my Vette runs hot,but I'd personally like it to not go to 220 before the fans kick on-It's a matter of personal preference, but I'd rather see it sit at 190-195 even in traffic, and it sounds like this fan controller will make that possible.(I don't need cooling when the engine is not running, mother nature takes care of that)
If I can do it myself without a $400 programmer,or paying someone $100 to do it,then I'd really be interested to know what the procedure is.
I installed my cool it last night and it only took me about 6 min. lol. the fabs work from really far away. I would say about 75-100 feet. I was pretty dang far from the car and they still came on. With my car running cooler down the track i wonder how much faster my ETs will be? Hmmm I wish I was a better driver so I could make some consistent passes down the track.

But on a hot day, in traffic with the AC on, both fans are running on HI anyways. So this product lets you control your fans without using the AC on a hot day?
