Reading the other thread on targa top and heat issue, what is the difference between the targa top and the solid top? Have a 2000 with targa top. Don't know if my car came with both but I only have the targa. Is the solid top just a piece of painted fiberglass?
The solid top is noticably heavier, although not too heavy for most people to remove and install. Although I have both tops, I use nothing but the translucent polycarbonate top. I am never too hot and really enjoy the bright interior while listening to the stereo.

They are both targa tops. Targa refers to the entire top coming off the car, and not just T-tops.
As far as compound, I believe they are both made of Lexan. One just being painted. But, don't quote me on that.

, but I don't think the solid top is made of Lexan. I believe it is made of something like the body panels are, but like sneakelman, I could be wrong on that material.
