Just installed the CLB and the steering wheel is still locked, I no longer get the service message; and I just had my battery checked and it is good. What is my nest step?

I may be wrong here but I dont think the CLB will fix your problem. the CLB is to be installed to prevent the problem but will not fix after it happens think it is stated in the directions. Im sure someone on here will be able to help you

I had this happen 2 times on my 01 6 years apart. There were two fixes from GM when mine locked the second time I had no codes, that is when I found out about the last repair that GM had and was not notified in any way from them.

plug the other end of the cable that came out of the plug you plugged into the black box into the cigarette lighter adapter cable and when you stick it into the lighter, you will hear the column unlock. If you do not, you waited too long to install it, and you need to seek furthur help. When you hear it unlock, unplug and disconnect.
if it's still locked after you plugged it into the cig lighter, that's the problem. Once it unlocks, pull the plug from the lighter and make sure the column is unlocked. It can't lock again, because it is unplugged.

I resolved the issue, scrolled through the DIC and the volts were reading 11.6; so I left everything hooked up and started the car for about a minute, and then the column lock disengaged. Thank you all for the help this forum is the best.
