Dashpad separating around HUD

Dashpad separating around HUD
Our very nice 00 coupe has a dash pad that is beginning to de-laminate around the HUD ....any suggestions for repair without replacing the entire dash pad? Bob in Mesa, AZ

Not sure how it would work, but maybe take the dash pad off and check with a good upholstery shop on whether the area can be reglued back together or not. Could save you the cost of a new dash pad.

dash pad separating
The pad is separating (less than 1/8") away from the HUD plastic surround sleeve...yes, must be heat-related...and 10 years old. Wondered if anyone had tried to use some type of glue, and made a template that would outline the HUD, and would hold the dash pad down until the adhesive dried...anyone tried this? Bob

Bob: my 2000 did the same thing, I found one on line and paid $ 150.00 and paid $175.00
to have it install @ a upholstery shop. I was told by a lot guys from the forum just to paint black around or put black tape also. If you look on line you may fine a good use one local and have install

nope... not just a y2k thing. my 02 is doing the same. i usually just take a credit card and poke it back under the HUD trim when i notice it... only works until the next tmie it sits in the sun for a while, but better than buying and installing a new dash pad
