You all are way too serious... He could be sitting still or just starting to pull up to the traffic. You really can read too much into the photo...
How about he gets the benefit of the doubt?
Considering he has about 4 car lengths in front of him and the car in front has their brake lights on, I'm sure he's not driving too fast, however I would not want to drive anywhere near this "professional" driver. The fact that he has a laptop rigged up online while driving a semi is scary in itself.
Sorry for being a party pooper in this thread, however my wife/kids were run off into the shoulder by a semi driver who changed lanes with no turn signal last year. Luckily one of the two drivers was paying attention or there may have been injuries.
As a result, I find no humor or anything cool about the pic. However, since the pic is from a forum member, perhaps he could chime in on the pic. If he was stuck, sitting in traffic, no biggie, however from the looks of the pic, it appears he is driving. Either way, the laptop on the dashboard looks to cause a blindspot in itself. Hoefully, it's just the camera angle.

The guy took a 2sec pic with his phone while driving...big deal...what's next, a public thrashing for throwing a gum wrapper out of the window...In the left lane!

It's not the 2 second pic that scares me. It's the surfing on the laptop rigged on his dash that creeps me out. What's next...a few movie DVDs to kill those long nights on the road?

Jeez the police around here often drive around with their laptops going.
What's the big deal if he has an image on his screen while he's drive around ?
It's not like he is surfing the web while driving.
How do see that. Because there is picture of thread on his screen. I don't see either of his hands up on the keyboard.
OK, you win. The semi driver is doing nothing wrong in promoting a supporting vendor's website on CF when driving his rig. I'm sure you're correct that he pulled the image/site up 30 minutes before leaving and then later during his drive decided to take a picture of the screen shot.
If someone starts a thread about street racing, the mods take it down within minutes. However, I guess it's OK for a vendor to post a pic of a semi driver doing something just as reckless.
Not cool.........dumb. One of my best friends was killed by a "distracted" trucker. Not condemning all drivers but we've all heard, seen and experienced enough situations involving accidents when drivers aren't surfing and then you see something like this that "appears" to be a trucker driving and surfing. Benefit of the doubt.....sure but if he is doing it, it's reckless at best and I wouldn't want to be anywhere near him and his rig. Call me a jerk....but posting the pic sends the wrong message....okay....done and off my soap box.
