I bought mine from the Parts Ladi in Destin,FL. Found it on e-bay. Mine was for a 2002 model. I'm not sure if she has one for a 98. I think her web address is www.thepartsladi.com

The early model ones are different, I think they are REAR mounted.

'97- early '98 are rear mounted. Late '98-'04 are front mounted. '01 and up use the same module. Late '98 to '00 use the same module.

If the ABS module is in the rear it is an early model.

They are very rare for the rear mount '98's - I had one I just sold to another member.

Take the part number off the top of the module itself and do a search on it. GM does not make them anymore -

I can't remember if they have a replacement for them or not, call the parts counter at GM and inquire with your year specific ABS moule and they will let you know

If it's outback, then it is the early in the year model module!

If it is located in the front by the power steering unit then it is a late in the year model module, with active handling.

Thanks,Matt

Why do you believe you need a new ABS Module?

What symptoms are you having?

I went through a lot of diagnosis with mine and found out I did not need a Module after all!

Let me know when you can!

Thanks,Matt

I've been getting the "Service Traction Control System" for sometime. Last Friday was having a bit of fun driving a bit aggressive on the expressway and on Sun the ABS/TRAC light came on and stayed lit after turning the car off and restarting.

Been looking thru the forum here and seen that lots of Vette fans have this problem. Since I've had this TRAC display on since I bought it 2yrs ago I think maybe it's time to have it replaced.

Any ideas?

I sent you a message.
It is not unusual for the lights to come on if driving aggressively, although they should clear when the car is restarted. Get the codes from your DIC and post them..

Have you checked the codes to see exactly which ones are setting of the light in the DIC?

Pull the codes first then try the suggestion below

It sounds like you have a late model unit with the Active Handling, you could try to pull the handle down on the ABS unit to remove the clip going into the module, get some contact cleaner and clean off the female and male part of the connector.

I had this problem, the female part of the clip/harness was worn or pushed up and I had to take a dental pick set and re-shape the prong to make a better connection on the male part.

The handle on the ABS unit will allow you to unclip it, simply pull it up and it'll pop out of the module.

You can also pull the two fuses going to the ABS unit in the Battery Den area, unscrew the the fuse panel top and there will be under the lid the diagram for the fuses, these are the MAXI (Large Fuses) pull the 20 AMP fuse and check it (I had one blown, and it kept making the light come on due to NO COMMUNICATION), and pull the 40 AMP and check it too.

I'd pull the fuses first and check them and leave them out when you use the contact cleaner, then reinstall the clip and then reinstall the MAXI fuses in their proper places and hopefully that will get you off into the right diretion.

Let me know how it goes, even if you have the ABS unit in the rear this will work the same

Thanks,Matt

Ok guys here are the only codes I found that are current:

RFA-C2100 & C2115

After doing a bit more research its LF & LR TPM Sensor Malfunction....Is this correct?

So what do I need to do now?

I also found many "H" codes. Are these ok the clear or should I just leave them?

WAIT ONE MINUTE!! Is this a sensor for tire pressure??

How the heck can that be displayed as a Service Traction Control System?

This is a bit confusing.

You are correct, RFA is for Radio Frequency and it simply is your tire pressure sensors!

Not to worry, "THEY" the Tire Pressure Monitor Sensors will "NOT" set the Service Traction Control System, that is a seperate isse

It does sound like what I had happen to mine with the loss of communication and or power. Follow what I did in the post and see where that gets you.

Thanks,Matt
