I like them and I am also considering adding a set. My only concern is whether or not if you keep them on for 2-3 years and then remove them, will there be any marks or surrounding paint fade?

I hate the look of fender stripes they look so out of place.... Just two stripes going diagnal on a fender is not good looking in my book.

But to each his own!

I'm actually kinda torn on these myself. I agree on one hand that it looks kinda odd....but it was a cool accent on the Grand Sports.

Wasn't the origin of the fender stripes based on the Grand Sport racing events? They used the driver's side stripes to help identify the team car on the track?

I'm sure someone knows the full story.

i don't remember the exact details, but you're on it. similar [ or same ] looking cars on the road course made it hard to tell which was which at a glance.

Put stickers on a vette? Sounds goofy to me. Make a commitment, more like paint and clear coat.

Been there done that. Would do the vinyl over paint any day of the week due to the fact that you can change it or take it off any time you want.

These were on mine when I bought the car. I still like them. They come right off if I want though.

I made my own, and ran them for a year or so...use the flat black vinyl on torch red....got tired of them one day and peeled them off. If you do it do both sides, looks killer from the front...yes, you can see them from the front!

I think they look great. Had them on my '00. For TR, I'd go with either black, silver or depending on your interior color, tan would look good.

I ordered a set of two tone from VetteStripes. I have not put them on yet, but I will as soon as I have the time. I got a graphite gray with a silver board stripe.

They look about like these only for a C5.

I love the 96 Grand Sport, so I am putting together my own lil Z16 package. I only have the fender emblems and front fender stripes now. I am ordering customer floor mats that have Grand Sport embroidered on them, gonna upgrade the brakes, and install black 17"x9.5" 18"x10.5" ZR1/Grand Sport style wheels. Eventually I will have Grand Sport custom seat covers installed.
