I had a 89 C4 for two years loved the old car. Traded it in on 02 C5 I'm inpressed with the extra power and the whole feel of the car, here's the butts, a lot of little electrical problems. i've got the turn signal bypass on order, had to change a headlight motor. Get tired of the service active handling warnings. I know you got pay too play, just like to get to the bottom of these things. No I don't want my C4 back, i'll get over the issues. My Question, any one running Falken FK452 tires and if so how are they?
There was a sticky on how to clean the grounding connections on a C-5. This often takes care of many 'spooky' problems. Also, the C-5 is very touchy about having a fully charged battery. If you got a car that didn't belong to a forum member it likely didn't have these areas looked at close enough. With a bit of reading and a little time (not too much money either) you should be able to get your car up to snuff. The folks here wil glad assist you.
I have 452s on my 04 coupe. I can't complain. They are pretty affordable. My rears lasted around 20-25k miles (a year and a half) and I think my fronts will last until I need new rears again. I can't compare them to anything else really though because I bought the car with runflats with no tread and replaced them with the 452s a couple days after I bought it.
Car and Driver did a pretty exhaustive tire test and the Dunlop Direzza took top honors. All tires had to be < $160.
I've got Michelin PS 2's and they're a great tire, but I'm not going to pony up $1200 + for my next set.

The best place to start is with Bill Curlee's "Important Electrical Information" sticky in C5 Tech. There is a wealth of information in there.
I came in here thinking there would be mouth watering BBQ pics with a thread title like that.. Sorry no advice on the electrical issues. Hope you get it figured out.

Figures this post would come from someone with a handle starting out as OMAHA.
