Got new wheels and tires a few weeks ago and now seem to have a vibration in my seat between 58 and 65 mph. Instantly took it back in to have them Road Force Balance the rear wheels again. They reported to me that if was barely off. So off I went and all seemed ok but then tonight on a nice 2 hour ride I felt it again... Just as bad as before... Can the balance of the wheels be off again? Checked the lugs on the rear wheels and all are tight. Just curious if I'm missing something.
i had a bad vibration between 60-80 mph. i had my wheels balanced 2 times and it didnt cure it, it was time to get new tires and that still didnt fix it...what it happened to be was my drivers side rear tie rod was bad. it allowed my whole wheel move about 1/8 of an inch side to side. also i had a bad vibration as well awhile ago and it happend to be bad rear wheel bearings. jack your car up and check your wheels for movement up and down and side to side. hope this helps
Thanks for the suggestion. I instantly thought the same thing after writing it but man just seems weird no vibration on worn out Goodyear Run flats and old wheels... Then vibration with new Michelins and new wheels... I'll check it out and let you know. Thanks again!
FWIW- I had a similar problem with mine after putting on new wheels. Road Forced, with no luck. Finally, a tech with some knowledge of dynamics suggested moving a wheel weight to the outside of the wheels. While one can now see the balance weights, its as smooth as a baby's rear. Also had a four wheel alignment performed and now it handles great. The car had 28K miles on it and after the work, drives like new. Check into a good shop in your area for alignment and Road Forced Balance-
Took the car in to have fluids changed and they found that the rear axle seals were bad and so was the rear diff seal on the drivers side. Passenger side was fine. So my car is spending the night in the shop should have it back by tomorrow to further investigate the vibration... Or maybe it will be gone.
