Default Reprogram computer for new tire size?

Anyone know how to reprogram the car for a new tire size? I could use my laptop on my old Trans Am, but I don't have any software for my Z. A buddy with a 99 C5 said you could do it in the DIC. Is this true?

I don't know about using the DIC but, a Hypertech programmer can do it and you can lower your cooling fan "on" temp at the same time.

I was throwing the AH/TC lights after a switch to 18" all around on my 03Z. The dealer and others told me it is one of the things that can't be tuned. Had to stay a 1/2" smaller in front to keep the ratio.

Dealer does not know what they are doing.

What tire & wheel size did you get?

If I remember correctly I had 315/30 out back and 285/35 up front in PS2's. I have no confidence in any dealer but are you trying to say this can be tuned?? Because I'm told by more than one to keep the ratio no matter what tires because it can't be tuned out on a C5Z.

as long as the front tire OD is smaller then the rear OD your fine.

18s front and rear ? or 17 front 18 rear ?

and a great tuner can do just about anything.

This is what I said in my first post. 1/2" smaller up front no matter the tires size. I have been told here and by two tuners this table can not be tuned, but you keep saying a great tuner can do ANYTHING??? kinda misleading. So you or your tuner have solved this issue and can tune the tire ratio???

I run 18s all around.

Front
18x12 with 18x305/30s

rear
18x13 with 18x335/30

Only time I had a bit of trouble was when I was running a square set up

18x25.5x11.5 on all corners. Just turned the TC/AH off

And I ran 295/35/18 on all 4 corners for 6 months without AH/TC issues.

Software can be purchased from HP Tuners, EFI Live and LS1 edit to make the changes. Or, you can visit a local tuner who already has the software.

You have two topics running here, odometer adjusmtment for non-stock tire and ABS.

I run 19's all around, 275*30 and 305*30, without any problem with ABS.

My tuner made an adjustment for rear tire size using HP Tuners. While I think he does a great job with my car, it only took him 10 minutes to calc the roll travel and make the adjustment so I don't think it was all that hard.

Not the only one here. HP Tuners, AFI Live, LS1 Edit can all do it.

But is is really worth it? not just for tire size changes.

You're correct, wouldn't make a trip to tuner just for this but if you're already there.... Mine was off by about 3%, so 3 MPH at 100 isn't a big deal. But the accumulation on the odometer might be a different story.
