I went with the AC Delco Iridiums when I did mine. Got them from Gene at gmpartshouse.com. At the same time I went with the GMPP red plug wires.

I went with NGK TR55's gapped around .50, and taylor spiro pro 8mm wires. I had a slight miss prior to the swap and it went away as well as seemed to gain a little power. The link below is the guide I followed and I definitely recommend the double swivel socket. http://c5forum.com/diy/sparkplugs.php

NGK TR55's here. You will never gain power from plugs or wires. It will only make the motor run the way it should. Thats makes people think they picked up HP.

OK so the motor now runs the way it should have prior to the plug change, I guess I should have stated restored rather than gained. What ever you want to call it I like it!

I also got my iridium's and GMPP red wires from Gene. I left the gap alone as many on the forum say these plugs come properly gaped and should not be re-gaped. My car runs perfectly with these plugs and wires installed.

But seriously. GM plugs are fine. Careful if you try to regap (or even measure) them, it's really easy to damage the iridium tip.

I also got my iridium's and GMPP red wires from Gene. Changed at 56,000. She runs smother since the change. Rear plug drivers side is a bit tricky.

It's cake with a flex head socket (like gear wrench) and if you move the rubber and metal tubing away from it.

In our shop we use the NGK almost exclusively - TR55 for the naturally aspirated mostly stock cars and TR6 (slightly cooler heat range) for the forced induction or heads and cam cars. We also use the GM red Hot Wires exclusively. This combination has produced great results.

As far as gap - we generally gap to .045.
