QTP install help!!
The guys put the oval pipes that have the stickers "this side up" upside down on the car lol. The valve on the left side in the picture isn't centered on the turn down so does that mean he has to flip the motor around to line it up properly or does it not matter? Also will those turndowns protect the leaf spring from melting? they aren't canted down very much.. And the motors are touching the way its installed right now, im not sure if thats such a good idea.
And if anyone can post a link of their wiring of the cutouts with pictures that would be awesome because im taking it back to get wired up tomorrow.

On a side note i took out the stock c5z 2.5' h pipe and had them put in the stock c6z 3' h pipe and weld it back up to stock exhaust so when i opened the cutouts i would have full 3' exhaust. Even though its still through the stock mufflers i can tell the exhaust is much throatier and sounds much more mean.
What I can tell you is you must learn how to properly open and close them or you are guaranteed to burn the motors out or the gearbox. There are dozens on little gears inside the reduction box with a LOT of torque.
When opening, when it gets loud - LET OFF THE SWITCH! Don't hold down the switch for any period of time. Use the "BUMP" method of closing them. That is, close them just by 'bumping' the switch in little short bursts until it gets quiet. There are countless numbers of people with these QTP or anybodies electric cutouts and they are pretty much the same. Many have stripped the gears, burn out motors, or strip out the collar bewteen the motor and butterfly valves.
Over time they WILL get out of synch -- where one closes before the other - more reason to get used to and use the switch bump method for opening and closing.
Many of these manf's will NOT honor their warranty as they say they will (they will blame YOU for the damage) and most require you to send back the 'defective' part leaving you with a wide open exhaust until the company feels like getting the repaired or repalcements back to you. Quite annoying to say the least.
Others report no significant problems. Just a heads up I went through 3 different ones before I found what I thought were the best ones for me.
And, lastly, no problem with heat on the spring. You are plenty ahead of any concerns for that.
Good Luck - easy to wire up, unless to have to switch polarity on one of them, even then no big deal.
