Plastic. I've looked everywhere and just can't see where it might have come from. The piece is cracked which is why it probably came loose. It looks like a plastic clip of some kind.

Where did it fall in relation to the door? Where the speaker is? Or, on the other end? I've don't recall anything like that.
I opened my driver's side door on my 2002 Convert, and this fell out. Any idea where it goes?
It's a fender spacer that fits at the front inside of the door. It snugs (?) up against the frontfender to prevent rattle. Mine kept falling out also so just replaced both side. It's like me & everything else......gets old & worn out.
If you open the door, look a few inches down from the side mirror, you see another rib line and probably the outline of the one that fell off. If my camera was working, i'd send you a pic. Hope that helps........
