Drive that car and enjoy your commute. It's not going to appreciate in price in the near future.

To each their own of course... but I would DRIVE IT. Contrary to what you may be led to believe here, rain won't melt it, the wheels won't fall off after you cross the 50K mile mark, and you will have a helluva lot of fun with one of the best high performance daily driver friendly cars ever built.

I wouldn't be real optimistic about the long term appreciation of value on the car... They simply built way too damn many of the things to reasonably expect it to be a collector car unless it truly is perfect.

Have some fun, slap a few bolt-ons on it, and every once in a while put your right foot in it for a smile inducing pick-me-up.

It's your car. Do with it what makes you happy. I love and enjoy cars, but they are still transportation. I could never own a car for the sole purpose of showing it unless I were wealthy enough to also have one for driving.

True story, did you know they built more A-Bodies in one year than in the entire C5 run from 97-04? A-Bodies are still collectible.

I'd DRIVE it as well!! No I don't think I'd use it for your commute every day,,but I'd sure use it for that a couple times a week. I WOULD drive it for around town errands every day ,,,and all weekend driving,,and any trips!! I'm retired,,and mine is out almost every day for some reason or other,,,it rarely sits for more than a day or two at a time!!! I've been averaging over 10K a year,,right around 24,000 in a little over 2 1/2 years. I figure even a high miler will have some value in the future,,maybe not as much as a low miler,,but who cares,,I won't be around to see it,,and I want to ENJOY it!! Why save it for someone else to enjoy!! My two cents!!!

That's because MOST of them have been wrecked (any kid could get his hands on one back in the day) and or they RUSTED away!!! Couldn't resist!!!

you bought it because you fell in love with it, who knows what the future will be, i also agree that the odds of a regular production run C5 gaining significatly as a "collector" car in the future will be limited. if you are profit motivated, you might try to find someone who will want a "show" car with low miles and be willing to pay up for it, but chances are the guy probably just won some local show and shines, so while it is a very nice car, it's just that, a very nice car and it might be tough to turn a signifcant enough profit to make you go out and find another nice vette to use as a daily driver. personally, i would just drive it like i stole it and enjoy every minute.

I would proudly drive it and enjoy it. The odds of it increasing in value by a significant amount are very low. The odds of you wiping the grin off of your face as you drive it each day are also very low. Ask me how I know.

Why buy a vette if you're not going to drive a vette?

THANKS GUYS!!!

This all started out when I decided to replace my pickup with an economy car.I looked at Mazdas then Mustangs then I thought why not a Vette for the same price! So I found this forum and got really enthused with these cars! I thought for sure I would find a lot of troubles with them but they seem remarkably trouble free.

Due to all your responses I decided to drive it til the newness wears off then perhaps add some add ons to renew the feeling and in the meantime get a beater to drive every day to keep the mileage down on the vette.

THANKS AGAIN !!!

Default New tires needed - then drive

I would replace the 10 year old original tires and then drive it. I bought my 2002 Z06 with 22000 miles on it in December. It now has over 27000 miles.

I would drive it and enjoy it. These car are not going to be collector type cars. I own several muscle cars and I drive them (some times hard) every chance I get. Cars of any kinda are no fun unless your drive them,in fact it is bad on them to just let them set. Have fun & enjoy!

I bought my 97 with 17k on in back in 2006. It now has almost 100k on it. These cars are too fun to stick in a garage. Its worth it to me to drive it!
