I bought a near perfect 2000 coupe with only 18K miles on it.Original everything including tires.Problem is I bought it as a daily driver but now I think it is too cherry to drive every day.Previous owner won several shows with it.
Should I :
1.drive it and enjoy the commute? (I drive at least 80 miles a day)
2.garage it and try showing it as a concourse original?(What's it going to be worth in the future?)
3.try to sell it now if I can make some money on it?(Then buy a seasoned c5 for commuting)
well, I bought my '02 last summer with 21,000 miles on it. I was driving 50 miles a day, but only drove the Vette once a week. An original 2000 is not going to worth much in our lifetime(I'm 28) so I would buy a beater and use the vette too and mod it any way you like. Just don't let it collect dust.

You can save it if you want, But in the long run you will be missing out of some really fun rides, I don't think the C5 will ever be a collector car, It would be nice, I bought mine with 14,000 miles and I drive it every day.
Like they said....it's not going to be worth enough in next 30-40 years. Over the long term, you'd probably make more money taking the cost of the car and putting into a fix rate CD.
I'd enjoy it. Get a beater for the "not so nice" days. If you want a show/collector car, then go buy one and don't drive it.
My '02 just turned 30k miles last weekend. It's mainly my weekend car but I've taken some nice long trips.
80 miles daily,, you'll be racking up those miles in no time. It all depends what you bought the car for,, do you want a fun toy to enjoy, and want to keep it in pristine condition ? Then get yourself another daily driver and keep this for just a fun car ! But if you bought it to drive and don't really mind the wear and tear and the normal things that happen to a daily driver then go for it and enjoy the ride. The car is never an investment, but a car in mint, and low mileage condition will probably sell faster and perhaps a few dollars more than one that has really been used !
It's an automobile that was made to be driven! Drive it....
not driving a corvette like it was intended to be used is a great disservice to the car and the engineers who designed it! not to mention an insult to your wallet . the low miles just mean you don't have to worry (as much) about it breaking anything or stranding you. ENJOY it!
If it were a Z16 or something then I'd say to keep her in low milage shape. But if it's a regular model then I'd drive it like it were meant to be driven.
I would drive it as much as possible. Use it, enjoy it and get your money's worth out of it. Every day you drive a beater there will be a moment that you wished you were in the Vette that day.
