When I take mine out I drive it ... what's the big deal here that everyone wants to go park their car somewhere (?) Try driving it - not parking it !

This post just goes to prove that there is an *** for every seat, even a C5 seat.
What did this worthless post prove other than you are an Idiot.. many people work their whole life with a goal of someday owning a Corvette,,, this isn't a revelation, just read some of the hundreds of thousands of posts on this subject.. many people enjoy driving their car but because we enjoy taking them places too, we do have to park them... Your post, not only showed your lack of camaraderie to the Corvette community, but your very poor computer skills.. you can't even do a simple HTML tag.. maybe you should spend less time driving and more time learning how to post on this forum..Beat a dead *****... ??? only if you were the horse..
With all my love

WTF???this makes no sense at all...how does this even come close to fitting into the subject...the op asked for additional rules...not krap...other than your post, this is a great thread...thanks for your input though ...btw...hable espanol???
I also subscribe to the "drop the wife off and circle or go to the north 40 and wait"!! I stay with the car often!! Other wise,,E.T. pretty well summed up my practices!!
I always back in to a parking spot in a parking lot...esp. Walmart-type places. I want to see the idiot speeding through the lot who might have otherwise hit me if i was backing out of a parking space. Too many close calls otherwise.
Unfortunately it sometimes pisses off other people who have to wait for you to back in to a spot...but oh well...i'm trying to protect my car not theirs.
but isn't strange how when you park in "corvette parking" away from other cars, almost always when you come out to your car there's at least one person parked right next to you anyway. It's like they went out of their way to try to park next to your vette.????
I just park in the handicapped spot and hang my permit on the mirror.
If ones not available I find an end spot and park as far as possible away from the closest car with out getting outside the lines.
Or if you're not fortunate (???) to have a handicapped placard, park in the regular spot closest to a handicapped spot. There's usually that large "buffer area" between the handicapped spot and the regular spot that gives you more distance between your car and the other one.
What are your Smart park rules.. I know they seem obvious to you but a list might make some people avoid grief.. if they list what they do repeating would be a good thing here, because it would show newbies and others just what smart parking is all about... and maybe the consensus on parking out in the boonies and taking up two spots..
there are positives and negative to how we park our Corvette so lets here your rules
here are some of mine
1)Try to park on the right end not the left end.. chances are there is no one on the passenger's side of the car to your left 2)Never park next to a 2 door car 3)Never park down hill 4)Consider a gust of wind can throw open a door as someone it trying to get in or out. 5)Never park out in the boonies. 6)Never take up two spots.. ( was not going to post this because it seems like a no brainier ) yet many people say the take up two spots. 7)Never make your car appear to be special 8)Always park as close to foot traffic as possible ( they are your security eyes) 9)If I am not comfortable with the spots that remain I don't park. 10)Do not park next to a cart collection station. ( Ive seen people push their cart from across the lane and it winds up hitting a car next to the collection station.. Edit
11) Never, I mean Never take your car to a movie theater in the evening where lots of kids hang out, often wanting to impress the ladies and their piers with the "can you top this challenge".. It never happened to me but have seen evidence of horrible things done to car by these kids.. " God's Children " with too many raging hormones.
You can cut and paste from others here if this is what you do.
Have fun, remember these rules will help other members consider how to park. no rules are right are wrong here.

100% true no matter where or when. And i add this little messsage left on the dashboard.
Try not to park directly in the path of the 18th (or any other) green at a golf course.
Tough to anticipate because anything can happen in golf, but golf ***** have a habit of flying into crazy places like parking lots, windshields etc.
My grandson asked me why I don't drive the vette when we go play golf. It's not the golf ***** flying around that scare me, it's the goofs who can't drive/park a golf cart safely in the parking lot.
#5 and #8 are my rules.. not necessarily anyone elses... Ive seen people throw eggs, and bottle of water and even fries and ketchup, and a beer can. at cars parked out in the boonies..
Parking close but smart will help were some coward might vandalize your car if its out aways from foot traffic.. BTW My car is 10 years old, has 80,000 miles on it...I take it eveywhere, just about. it does not have one nick or ding on it.. these rules that I have developed I have developed over 50 years of driving nice cars.
Unbelievable!
Particularly with this consideration in mind, I always try to park slightly further out than the most distant car from the entrance of the building where I stop; but not too far so as to draw the ire of any retaliatory morons described in fine detail heretofore.
I like the rule about parking in the vicinity of high foot traffic volume. It is said that, psychologically speaking, most vigilantes are cowardly. Therefore it makes sense that parking in an area where being more easily visible by the general public or the car owner himself/herself would dissuade such an individual from doing damage. Just the notion of big brother watching is enough of a deterrent; especially for a vigilante of low self-esteem. I'll have to try that.
I agree about not parking downhill, no matter how far away you are. I once parked my dd in a mall parking lot, had to be at least 100 yds + away from the main door, only problem was it was downhill and a loose shopping cart, the only one in the lot btw, rolled down and dinged my door pretty good...argghhhh!
never downhill
always in a spot that has one space that is blocked off
thats pretty much the main rules i follow for anycar. It doesnt really matter what car i drive, i treat them all the same, these days the vette is worth less than a new hyundai would cost anyway. I never do the taking up 2 space thing, your only asking for trouble
