Default need advice

Hello everyone, I have been a member on this forum since November, but only posted a couple times. I purchased a 2003 black Zo6 in June. I love the car!! I recently took it to Atco and ran 11.9 @116. The only mod I have added were drag tires. I am confused right now. I am thinking about adding a supercharger, but I am considering trading the car in February on a C6 Zo6. Should I just add a blower to the car, or should I just wait and purchase the C6 z? I have had all types of performance cars (4 Mustangs, LT1 Trans Am, Grand National, and 05 H/C/I GTO Ls2), but this car is amazing. 11s with just tires!! I can only imagine what a C6 will do with DRs, but a C5 Zo6 with FI will be a formidable opponent and I think it will take a stock C6 Z. What do you guys think I should do? I can use the money I have for the supercharger as a larger down payment for the C6. This is my 1st Vett and I will never own another performance vehicle other than a Vett. I am simply hooked!! Thanks in advance

P.S I am a little worried about the problems associated with the LS7. I love the body, but I don't want to purchase one, mod it, then have a problem with the engine.

A little history on my car: it has 40,000 miles and the previous owner was sitting at a light and a car rear ended him. it looks like the whole car may have been painted, but it was done right. I think I got a good deal from the dealer. I paid $22,400 out the door and it had 36,000 miles back in June. The car being hit does haunt me, because I am very **** with my cars. But this car drove so nice and it felt straight.

I can't make an honest answer because I have never driven a C6Z...I am sure that the C5 with a supercharger will take a C6Z and you are a pretty good driver to get a 11.9 with tires only so you won't be one of those guys running a 12.8 @ 128MPH....I always think that is funny. Good luck with your decision. I love the outside looks of the C6Z but i think the interior is terrible but that is just my opinion....

Thanks for the advice. I love the way the c5 Z sits, but I also like the wide body and performance of the C6 Z. I know if I decide to go FI, I have to worry about breaking things. The C6 Z will run good times, without the worry of breaking too many parts.

Only you can answer this question so go drive a few C6Z's and see what you think. Some like it, some don't. There are subtle differences in some of them from what I have read but that can be changed with the parts from that year.

Adding a supercharger will add more weight to the front end and affect handling to some extent.

If you intend to drag race the C5 then you will soon need to upgrade parts as they break/wear.

Is the C6Z worth your car + an extra $25-30K? I keep saying no to myself.

Don't waste the time and money on a S/C kit if you're moving up to a C6Z...you'll wind up taking a loss.

Leave the C5 alone, and wait for the C6Z. 427 with headers/ a mild cam, and a good tune will be very fast.

maybe biased here.......but keep the c5, far better looks, sexier lines, nice sleekness w/the pop up headlights, plus you don't see too many of the older Z models as much........ at least I don't. Either way its a Z, can't go wrong brother, G/L w/the decision.

Thanks guys, I am going to wait and purchase a c6 Z next spring. For what I want to do, I think that will be the best bet. However, In the mean time, I will see how fast I can get this car down the 1320!! I just did the zip tie, so hopefully I can get an 11.7 out if.
