What if you don't have a rear CD changer? Is the wiring still there?
You must have a indash CD player, right? If this is the case then yes you can still purchase the kit but you must pull the head unit and install the wiring between head unit and peripheral box. I installed ours last night and works great!!! I ordered it from doubledmods.com

Some months ago I installed the kit to my stock unit and it was a great improvement, My iTouch is a 32gb and I have some 4000 songs at my finger tips.
If anyone is thinking of doing this contact Dennis (C5 Bearsfan) at doubledmods.com He will hook you right up and ships fast.
Mr.Bill
i've been debating a DD mod since i bought this vette. like the look, but don't want to spend the money. i would just go with the ipod hookups, but i'd like to also have satellite radio.
The ipod adapter is one of the best mods I've done to the car so far. I considered replacing the stock stereo but I don't need all the features of the DD as I just want to listen to music and I don't want the filler that goes around a standard single din head unit. The adapter was the perfect solution.
From what I read you can control the iPod from the radio but only randomly. No song info shows up on the radio display. To install the adapter you unplug the connector from your C/D player. Plug that connector into the adapter harness. Connect the iPod cable (provided) to the adapter box (approx. only 4" square sit nicely next to the C/D changer. Run the iPod cord to the passenger area. Plug in you iPod. Turn your radio on hit aux. Then play your iPod normally though the car system. I have seen iPod holders mounted on the dash/console area. I just hide mine while the car in parked.
My iPhone4 just stays put with the bumper on right on the console. When a drink is in the cup holder and I'm at cruise in 6th, I can easily see and use the display. So I can have the Nav app running, or live weather radar, or iPod. All driving tools.
Yes limited control from the head, just skip forward. Suppose to go back but doesn't seem to work all the time. It displays "Disc 1 2" where the 2 is suppose to be the song number.
I just removed the ash tray, there are two large openings inside the console to push the cable through, so I didn't have to modify any existing part (no cutting, drilling, etc.)! Make sure you test it during installation as you make the connections and after you slide each module back in, I had to reseat the iPod/iPhone cable.
I had to use a dremel tool to grind down some of the casing on the iSimple connector so it fit into the standard opening on the case. Otherwise it would not connect to the iPhone4 with the bumper on. For some reason iSimple made a fancy bulging case on their connector unlike the standard case openings which has straight sides. In the picture above I had the bumper off.
