2003 Milestone Edition Thoughts
Looks like a Dealer add on?
Is it going to be a collectiable?
Value compared to any other 03 coupe?
Thanks for any help, just found one and like it. I had been just looking for a ZO6 but these are very unique.
Greg

The Milestone Edition was a joint venture between the renowned Corvette artist Dana Forrester and the National Corvette Museum to honor the 50th anniversary of the Corvette. The graphics were designed by Dana Forrester incorporating the NCM logo. Each vehicle is numbered. The Milestone edition included an upgraded Donaldson Blackwing intake, Corsa exhaust with Pro Polished tips, Chromed shifter ball, Chrome Z06 style wheels, Lloyds floor mats emroidered with the Milestone Edition logo and the NCM logo .Color Keyed fuel rail covers signed and numbered by Dana Forrester, and a dash plaque with the logo and number. Each vehicle also came with an 10.5x13 watercolor print of the Milestone Trio signed and numbered by Dana Forester, a painting done by Dana Forrester commemorating these special edition Corvettes, and a certificate of authenticity.
The one my friend sold a year ago had 8500 miles on it and was an automatic. Not sure of the price but I think it was around $25K. Although 1000 were allotted to be made, I think that no more than 100 were created. It looks like a pretty good deal.
I think the car you are looking at was on Ebay back in June. High bid at that time was $22,100 and it did not sell.

I have one of them I bought new. It has 6000 miles on it. I was looking on here to see if there was any info on them. I am going to have mine appraised. No its not a dealer add on. I was told this is the first car the Corvette Museum ever put their logo on. I would love any info u can get on them.

I have spoken at length with Dana Forrester about the package - he has one (a Z06). According to Dana, a total of up to 1000 copies of the package were authorized, but in reality only about 100 or so were purchased. The exact number is hard to determine as some dealers did not follow the guidelines when installing the components on each car so more than one car may have received some components of a single package. If it is a true Milestone car, it should have a certificate of authenticity signed by Dana Forrester as well as a limited edition print also signed by Dana.
There was one that sold at Barrett Jackson earlier this year (back in January I believe) - had about 50K miles on the car and still brought a pretty good price.
Based on the mileage (and according to Dana the car was not in mint condition), I'd say the value has held up very well for this limited edition car. Either that, or the buyer just got caught up in a bidding war and paid more than he should have. Would be interesting to see what an independent appraisal would say.
The wheels were an add on as part of the package and were aftermarket chrome Z06 style in the stock 17x8.5/18x9.5 for coupe/vert and 17x9.5/18/10.5 for the Z06 version.
I bought mine from a forum member in NJ (selling dealer was Kerbecks) - the car had 8500 miles on it and I paid $25K for it back in September 09. I think I got a great deal since the car was in mint condition.
I continue my research into these cars - would like to find someone that has a red one located reasonably close to the mid-Missouri area. gwalker and I have been in touch and since he has a white one, the red version would make for a great picture of the three colors available with the package installed.
Knowing that Peggy has one in Kansas City KS, that now makes four cars (hers, mine, gwalker and Dana Forrester) that are within a couple of hours of each other.
If anyone has more questions on these, I might be able to answer the questions. If not, you could always contact Dana Forrester (www.danaforrester.com) and he can provide some info.
Also, I have not been able to find the Milestone Edition package listed in any pricing publication - NADA, Kelly Blue Book, Corvette Black Book, etc.

Love them or hate them, the one that sold at Barrett Jackson did pretty well for itself.

I have the original window sticker and Milestone Edition owners packet from my car that I bought new in 2003. It was a Torch red convertible #65. The dealer couldnt sell it with the sticker package, so they removed them...then made me one hell of a deal on a $50k+ new car.
If anyone is looking for info on these cars, feel free to contact me.
Unfortunately I sold mine some time ago.....maybe the current owner is out there....
