Otherwise, as said, the lines of a C5 just can't be enhanced by pinstriping. IMO, pinstripes are usually about emphasizing or enhancing some existing line of the car......the C5 is just too round....there are no creases or real lines.
Ever since I first saw a C5 I thought a thin (1/8") pinstripe applied along the upper fender contours would look terrific, looking at the car from the side. (Everyone reading this can now go "ugh. . . .").
Well, when I got my black '03 Coupe I decided to try it, using metallic silver tape to go with the stock painted wheels. I pointed the tape at the front, then started laying it just behind the bumper cover line alongside the headlight pods. At the doors, I ran the tape up to the front of the mirror mount and cut it, then continued the tape starting at the rear of the mount and going back to the rear bumper cover. Height was such at the (driver's) fender that it just misses the gas door opening.
I personally think it looks really good, delineating those beautiful C5 contours without being too obvious or showy, The only issue I have is that the striping looks a little awkward if you are looking down at the car from the front or rear because of the line it has to take to stay on the upper fender/door contours. But from the side I am well pleased and it looks almost dramatic on the black car.
If you want to experiment with something similar, it would be a cheap ($5 or so) experiment doing it yourself. A pro in my area would charge $75-$100 to lay the tape himself and if you wanted it painted that is a whole 'nother story.

In C5 General, click on "search this forum" (in the red banner). Use keywords "pin striping" and you (original poster) should come up with two pages of past threads.
There are numerous pro/con comments along with some images of members whose cars have been pin striped, including "Vetteman Jack". His is black on silver. I think a little bold color pin stripe (blues or greens which look like neon) or subtle "ghost" color could be quite attractive. Keep it confined to a small area, not all over the car ala 1950s style.

Nothing wrong with being a little different. Just make sure it's tasteful.
As for the white Vert, I think the stripes are a little much, but I don't hate them. I DO hate the Pep Boy chrome license surround and tail light covers.
