Has anybody seen the numbers on how many people attended this years Carlisle and was the vendor participation up or down? I know the Carlisle website says that attendance was up 11% but that doesn't tell me anything. I was there from Thursday afternoon through Sunday and it appeared that attendance was down based on the crowds. I had no trouble finding a seat for lunch at the food court, my wife said there were no lines at the ladies room and other than installation alley there seemed to be less crowds. Let's hear from you guys on your opinion.
i thought friday was a lot busier than past years. i also thought there seemed to be more 'show' cars. maybe as they add more food stands throughout the grounds, the food court becomes less busy.
hard to tell, but it seemed to me like numbers were down a little from last year. It also seemed like the same number of vendors were there but they were in smaller spaces or showing smaller displays, bringing less gear...
I know certain vendors weren't there. Speed Lingerie and Auto Buffs for example. I couldn't find anybody selling Zaino. My wife likes to use a polish called Wenol and we couldn't find a vendor with that either. I saw a lot of Sunglasses vendors. I like to pick up a new case for my cell phone at Carlisle and did not see a vendor with that either. Going up and down the aisles I saw a lot of vendors' cars parked but quite a bit of empty space. Yet on the other side of the coin a vendor friend of mine said he broke his Carlisle record in sales. People wise, Thursday was dead but this is setup day. Friday & Saturday had some traffic and by Sunday it was dead again, in fact a number of vendors were already packed up and gone before noon. I am just curious if anybody heard a head count that made up the 11% increase that Carlisle is talking about.
Don't get me wrong, Corvettes at Carlisle is still the best show in the country. I have being going for 2 decades and plan to continue going.

I also noted some vendors missing such as Stabil. I did see Zaino somewhere. I thought Friday was lighter crowd than in the past.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday I was there. IMO on Friday it was busier than I've generally seen it on Fridays. I thought Saturday was a pretty normal Saturday crowd in the morning, but people didn't stay as long into the afternoon. Definitely, was down on vendors, but the fun field was loaded with cars. As much time as I spent there, still there were things that I missed. Carlisle is an annual excursion for me. As much as possible, I prefer to see things first hand rather than as pics on the internet when I comes to something that I'm thinking about buying. So Carlisle is my best opportunity to see a lot of things in one place. I hope vendors and vette owners keep supporting it.
I was there on Saturday and it looked packed to me. I got there about 10am and the fun display field was packed. They had me park so far up the hill and around the bend, I thought I was in a different area code. I had to take a couple of camera shots to reference where I was and still could use a GPS to find my car at the end of the day. The only # I know is 400 cars for the parade into Carlisle on Saturday evening.
I think the vendors looked off and spent a lot of time looking for small parts and wound up with nada. No bargains from the vendors, you can order just as easily online for the same price. The on-site installs do make sense and they seemed busy as usual.
We were there on Saturday and I thought it was just about the same, if not slightly smaller crowds that day. Didn't seem we were trying to fight our way thru areas for the most part.
I know Kim was looking for Gloss-it, as she bought some good stuff from the last year and they weren't there, and yeah... I have NO clue why Zaino doesn't show.
Didn't see P&M with their C6RS and I didn't see Katech there, but I thought they were supposed to be there.
I loved the fun field again this year. By mid afternoon the field was packed with cars.
I was able to get my black lug nuts @ WCC and that was about all we bought.
Taxes have always been an issue. I think what may have kept some away was weather past.
Thur being set-up day means vendors are rollin in. By Sun, those same vendors are tired and want to get home. Strike both days unless one hopes the win the giveaway car on Sun and was able to enjoy the event all day Sat.
Fri & Sat are the prime days. One day is not enough to take it all in IMOP, esp if it's your first time.

It's strange that you would talk about Pennsylvania and taxes, I've lived here all my life and I can assure you that we here in Pennsylvania , We have the best politicians money can buy !" I barrrowed that line from a true American great, Will Rogers.
I haven't been since the tornado hit in 2007 and I thought there were fewer cars and less vendors this year. It was very nice and easy to get around for a change. I miss the auction, but enjoyed driving the new Grand Sports!
I am not sure of the exact numbers, but it was the largest Fun Field attendance ever recorded.
I spotted both Zaino and Wenol and booths, but they weren't labeled as the Zaino Booth, etc. Speed Lingerie is usually there, AutoBuffs had other plans, and most of there products are custom anyway.
All in all I thought it was a great event.

Friday i would say was a up day as far as attendance. Saturday the attendance seemed down. Less vendors then in the past. I will not go back and i have probably been to 10 shows. Just cheaper and easier to shop online. Just my thoughts.
It's funny how people have different takes on the attendance. I thought it was much busier both Friday and Saturday than last year. I've heard that Sunday's are becoming less relevent because so many vendors are packing up on Saturday About the only reason to go Sunday is the giveaway.
