Default Tranmission Fluid and Rear Diff Fluid

What kind of fluid should i replace my transmission and rear diff with? Any recommendation and how much should I purchase and what kind of additive? Also how many miles should this be done? The car is a 2003 Corvette Z06?

BTW - What aftermarket stuff does everyone like?

Here is what I changed.....

GM recommended fluid for the trans, red line with no additive for the diff.

Worked good so far, I reccomend the quantitys in the pictures

I run Amsoil ATD in the trans and Amsoil Severe Gear 75-90 in the diff of my 02Z.The SG fluid has the limited slip additive in it.

I change the trans & diff fluids in ALL my cars every 15k.Fluid is cheap....trans & diff's are not.

Here is the link for your car:

This guy is good & trusted Amsoil/CF vendor.

Does anyone know the drain plug, rear diff and trans plug magnetic part numbers from GM so I can place the order or know where to get them?

I use Mobil 1 engine, tranny and rear diff. Phoenix puts it in their T1 race cars it's good enough for me.

Engine oil changed every other track event, tranny at least twice a year and diff at least once per year.

If I didn't track my car I'd use GM fluids in the tranny and diff, and would only change them every few years depending on mileage.

Don't think you can go wrong with any premium synthetic product, but I also don't believe all the hype around some of the more expensive "boutique" oils out there either, but I'm in sales and marketing so I'm naturally skeptical of promotional claims.

I use all Amsoil products. Why cheap out on the stuff that maintains the expensive parts?

I use Amsoil Advance Torque Drive on the trans and Amsoil Severe Gear 75-90 in the diff.

I have an 03 Z. The car runs and shifts great.

BTW, I also use Amsoil Signature Series motor oil.

I am soon to be changing out my diff and tranny fluid.
Did you notice any difference in shifter feel (or anything else) when changing to these above oils ?
Could you send me links to the exact stuff you got ?

I use amsoil in the trans, gear and clutch. I use Motul 660 for brake and german castrol for engine oil. This combination has proved best over others for me. One thing I know is that there isn't one company that is best in every category. Good luck!

The factory fill is Dextron.

I'm running RP in the trans and diff, but my car is not a DD...so when it sits for a week the shifts are real clunky for the first 10 minutes or so of driving. Thinking of trying Amsoil on my next fluid change.

The shifts felt much better. The shifter went into gates much easier.

The below links are the correct links.
