You can paint as much or as little as you wish, that's not the point here. It's the concept I wanted to offer, not how much of the clear I painted. And, by the way, 4 years after painting this front cover in a State that requires front plates, I've NEVER been stopped.
I have the same deal on my car and like it very much. I think it would look better painted the body color though. Just my opinion which isn't worth much even at my own house.

Not picking on your frame...just pointing out for others who might not know that it IS NOT legal in all front plate states. Yours says it's ok, great. It's not hard to find stories on this forum by folks who have your setup and did get tickets.
This is more about the OPs plate frame which is 50 state legal, hands down.
ok how do you put a plate on the front of a C5? i took the plastic "corvette" cover off, i see only two holes at the bottom of where you'd put a plate, if was to line it up with those, the plate doesn't fit in the area provided? Do you have to puncture holes in the top section? Or go to GM and get a whole bracket for it? ANd i've noticed my C4 is the same....do i have to puncture it or order bracket for it too?
If you look at post 15, that is the factory plate frame. The plate slips into the frame and the frame top, clips into the bumper. Then you screw the bottom of the plate ot the car.

oh wow, i feel dum. ididn't even think aout it tucking under the bumper frame. so tuck it under it, slide it down to align with the license plate screw holes on the bottom. but then also you have the little screws that orginally held the plastic "corvette" that show below the tag. So i guess that's what this filler is for...? thank you much for your help.
Does it work the same for the C4 i wonder? I tried to pull the plastic "corvette" cover off, but the screws on the bottom are holdiing it on, how do you get to those to release the cover. on my c5, screws didn't hold cover on.
I don't drink - period - so it's the issue of a fix-it ticket for me.
Same here... I have never even tasted alcohol, never had a cigarette, cigar or joint and never tried drugs - won't even take an aspirin... in fact I could fill this thread with things I have never done... I am a Party Animal!
