Newbie question
I have heard that there were some quality issues with the first year of a redesign like '68 and '84 models. I am shopping for my first Vette, an early C5. Are there any such issues with '97s?

The '97s were pretty good when it came to first year bugs. They tend to share the same common problems as do all the C5s with the possible exception of having a fuel pump that was a bit more noisy than the later years. I have a friend with a '97 that he has owned for the last 9-10 years and couldn't be any happier owning it. No major issues with his that I know of.
