Hello Vetter's, question, I would like to put in some fuel system and injector cleaner into gas tank. I have a late model Pontiac GP and it worked wonders in it. I would like to put this additive into my '03 Vette is there any issues with a no name(box store) additive (that works like a charm) into my Corvette, can I treat this car as any other? Rob
All will work but some are better than others. Techron is probably the favorite additive on this forum and it does work great. I have used SeaFoam with great results too. On my daily driver (03 Chevy Avalanche Z-71) I've used Marvels Mystery Oil. Never had a problem with injectors and have almost 200K miles on it. I would not hesitate to use that on my Vette either.
here ya go...
"BG 44K, the best, fastest acting, safe, fuel injector cleaner. BG 44K cleans the entire fuel system including intake valves, piston tops and combustion chambers. If you have tried Techron, Sea Foam or other fuel system cleaners and want something better, try BG 44K."
I to use Techron,,,but bottom line,,if it has worked for you before,,give it a shot!!While we all tend to put the Corvette on a pedestal,,in the end it is a GM car. They use the LS motor platform in all kinds of cars and trucks,,,ours is just tweaked a little more towards the performance end of the spectrum. Techron and Sea foam are well known to prevent or cure the infamous gas gauge issue,,,but if you want to try your cleaner,,most likely not a problem!!

Can't comment on the other fuel cleaners out there. I've not heard of any additives that have caused harm but I guess that's no surprise. The trouble is that in tests that I've read, many of them seem to be useless.
The issue with the Vette is that sulfur in the gas can affect the fuel senders and form deposits. Techron seems to be formulated specifically to clean off that sulfur so it's popular here.
Techron is hard to find here in UK. I've used a local product (Redex) successfully but only because that was what I was able to get hold of at the time.

"Corvette Fever" ran a story about injectors and cleaner a couple of years ago and they said that Techron was the very best. You can tell the difference after you run it through.
