Default 2004 Factory Recall

Hi Everyone...just wanted to let you know that General Motors sent a letter saying that "some 2004 Corvettes may have a fuel tank leak at the quick connectors that are used to link the left and right fuel tanks. The customer may notice a fuel odor while the vehicle is being refueled, driven or after it is parked. If the leak becomes large enough, a small amount of fuel may be observed dripping on the ground. The leak may also result in a diagnostic code being sent and the illumination of the Check Engine light on the instrument cluster"
You may call 1-800-630-2438 the Customer Assistance Center.
Just wanted to share this with all of you. Mods...I hope this is OK to post.
Jeff

Jol -

Thanks for the info -- many of us with the late 2003 thru 2004 models have been following the 'Fuel leak 2004 cracked crossover connector smells' thread and were aware of this psuedo recall.

GM should repair all cars that recieved the bad batch of resin that they made the crossover connector with.....but they will fix the ones that break within a timeframe and the hell with the rest of them. IMHO a chicken **** way to treat the owners of their flagship sports car.

Take care,
CatCam
