Got the unit mounted in the visor, programmed and back in the vette.
Total cost $15 ($5 for the used visor from a junk yard and $10 to have it sewn closed)
No more remote hanging on the visor and a much cleaner look.

i did the same but for my genie rolling code unit. the unit is so small it fits int to the useless cup holder and the lid even closes completely. i was able to buy it at home depot and then just sync it to my existing unit the same way you would sync a mounted one like a home link, etc.
