I have had it a few times, It has to do with the position of your wheels and taking off as soon as you start the car. It is very common.
Active handling has a start-up protocol that requires no slippage in tires until it is complete. IF one of the tires slips ( wheel spin, turning a corner etc) the DIC
alerts gives an audio visual alert (Ding, and active handling warming-up message displays). Once the car has gone a few hundred feet ( the time it takes to do a more setailed self check if the warming -up alert is triggered, then a second message active handling warm-up complete is displayed.

I've got an 2003 Roadster and it has only happened to me twice and long interval between the two. It went away after a few minutes. I didn't think anything about , as long as it went away.
I use to before Chevy swapped out my BCM and ABS module under warranty. Since they I haven't seen it. I was also getting service abs as well from time to time.
First time it happened I had only had the car a month and was at a autox. It was hotter than heck so I was sitting in line for at least 10 min with the car running and the AC on. Did my run and as I was back to my paddock spot I hear a ding and then the message appears. Had me worried till I asked a guy what the deal was.
I've seen it on mine.. then it says warm up complete... Of course then at random after a few miles or many miles it then says... "Service Active Handling"
It's happened twice to me now. First time I was pretty alarmed since I was several hours from home.
I was parked in a parking garage, with my wheels turned out and the garage floor was that slippery, polished concrete. Looking at Mr Bill's post, I'm guessing that's what set it off.
The second time it happened I was in my in-laws driveway with my car parked with the nose slightly downhill and again the wheels turned slightly askew. But I've parked like this in their driveway dozens of times and it never set off the alarm before.
