Stupid Key Fob!!
Now the fob wont unlock the trunk 3/4 of the time, when it does i have to be right by the drivers door. If you lock or unlock the car and then stand by it the door locks will lock or unlock again, even though the passive feature is switched off on the remote.
Replaced the battery in the fob, checked the contacts, and still the same thing. Anybody have an idea of what is wrong or what to do???

As more and more electronic devices get incorporated or carried in vehicles, reports of remote keyless entry systems with poor performance or unable to program are increasing. Technical Assistance has identified a number of devices that can interfere with our RKE such as cell phone cords plugged into power outlets without the phone present, wireless doorbell transmitters, garage door openers, etc. If an RKE system receives two transmissions from separate sources at the same time, it will ignore both.
If the TPSs are working then the RFA must be OK. That means you can isolate the problem to the fob.
Long shot but you didn't fit anything in the trunk area that could be shielding the RFA such as Frost King insulation?

Other than that Gene Culley has the best prices I've seen for new GM FOBs. You can get some pretty cheap aftermarket ones on EBay. I'd get the one for the 2000, it doesn't have the passive feature. Any FOB from '97-'00 will work with your car.
