"low coolant" message on dash
This has been comming up for some time now. I was told told by a buddy that works at a GM dealership that they use toilet bowl cleaner to "clean" the sensor. Well when I had my radiator out for a cleaning, I thought now would be a good time to try it. After the coolant tank was empty I used about a cup of the toilet bowl cleaner. After a while of sloshing it around, I dumped it out. The tank was rinced out very well SEVERAL times. The tank was set aside to dry as I had other things to do before it went back in. After all was put back together....the "low coolant" message was gone! I saved $70.00 by not purchasing a new tank. Oh, and the front of my radiator looked like it was growing **** carpet on it! I now have a new thing to add to my normal maint.
