Default man i hate cags

just thought i'd throw that in there. so many times i almost get rear ended because i'm waiting for hte RPMs to drop back down to 900 to shift to 4th. I will order a cags-bypass when i get home from work. its one of the things i hate most about this car. i cant be the only one that almost gets rearended. that and the crappy shifting. (02z w/B&M Ripper). I think I will swap to a c6z or mgw shifter rather soon.

Hmmm...CAGS is rarely an issue on my C5Z. I upshift at 3k RPM (or higher) and never get the dreaded 1-4 shift light.

Plus my Ripper is such a huge improvement over the stock shifter, I don't see any downside.

CAGS was the first thing I got rid of!! It led to a few awkward moments and a few thrills!!best money I've ever spent,,next to buying the Corvette that is!!! I'm the independent type and like to choose the gear I want when I want!!

You're waiting for the rpm's to drop below 900 so you can shift into 4th.....WHAT?? You are shifting too soon and ******* the engine. Take the rpm's up to 2000-2500 and shift into 2nd. CAGS has never been an issue.

Yea, it always gets you when you are just driving along quietly on the way to somewhere. Leaves everyone else at the light thinking you dont know how to drive because it takes you 5 seconds to find the wrong gear before puttering away. Bypass FTW!

I used a resistor and some electrical tape. A search might turn up what kind of resistor to use.

VERY easy mod to do.

You'll be a happy camper once it's installed.

Probably the best $20 you'll spend on the car.

Yep!!, if you learn to drive the car you wont be shifting it at 900.

And you will/or should be shifting it at least 2500 and you wont need NO CAGS, So i would just play around with your shifting points and see how you think it shift the best for you.

Just don't over do it... But i don't use a CAGS and i have never had a problem.. just the first time it did it i said ok i wont shift like that no more..And every thing was better..I never looked back, or thought of buying a CAGS..Just shift it right.

Buy a CAGS if your lazy and don't wont to get to know your corvette...Its so easy grass hopper.

The CAGS bypass is an option but you can get this feature disabled - including the light if you get your car tuned.

I actually drove my car slowly this weekend for a few minutes...
And I never have seen the cags message come on, nor the car force me into a higher gear. Without going under the car I wonder how I could tell if the previous owner installed a bypass...
