Hey guys, I just picked my car up from the shop after having new tires and tpms sensors installed. The shop had a problem getting the new sensors registered. Now the system only recognizes the rear driver side tire and it shows as "0". The rest show as "xxx". Any suggestions on why they aren't registering and how to fix it?

First does your FOB work? If so, then the problem is not with the receiver. Try programming them yourself. Go to the hardware store and get a strong magnet and follow this procedure:
1. Turn the ignition to ON.
2. Press the RESET button in order to clear any IPC display warning messages.
3. Press and release the OPTIONS button on the DIC to scroll through the display options until the IPC display is blank.
4. Press and hold the DIC RESET button for 3 seconds.
5. Press the OPTIONS button again until the TIRE TRAINING message appears.
6. Press the RESET button until the IPC LEARN L FRONT TIRE message appears in order to begin the programming sequence.
7. Install the J 41760 (Magnet) over the left front valve stem.
8. The horn will sound, indicating the left front TPM sensor is programmed.
Important
If the horn does not sound after 15 seconds, remove then reinstall the TPM sensor programming tool. This procedure may have to be attempted up to three times in some instances.
9. When the horn sounds, proceed to program the next TPM sensor in the following order as directed by the IPC messages:
* LEARN R FRONT TIRE
* LEARN R REAR TIRE
* LEARN L REAR TIRE
The whole thing has been kind of a mess. A couple months ago,I bought a Mothers product to clean my CCWs. It said safe for all wheels and non acidic,however they had neglected to test it on all types of aluminum. When I sprayed it on,it etched my wheels. They were aware of the problem and offered to pay to have the wheels repolished. So they sent me a set of stock Z06 wheels and tires and shipped my CCWs to a polisher in Huntington Beach,Ca. Somehow,one of the sensors got broken in half and Mothers ordered 4 new sensors from Gene Culley. Now they shop can't get the sensors to work correctly so I'm not sure what the deal is. Hopefully I can get it figured out tonight. Right now I keep getting the "Right Rear Tire Flat","Reduced Handling" and "Max Speed 55 mph" messages due to the "0" on the one tire. The others continue to read "xxx"
Hi Lance. I'm having the same problem with my sensors. Replaced the two rear tires about six months ago and the tire shop could not get the sensors to reprogram. Took it to the dealer and they had no luck. The dealer installed new sensors but still could not get them to read. The dealer now believes it is a receiver problem even though the key remotes continue to work. Awaiting a new receiver which has been on backorder for six months now. Hope you have better luck. Let me know how you get it resolved. The magnets did not seem to work for me.

If all you did was replace the rear tires and you used the same sensors you should not have had to reprogram. If you did replace the sensors, did you just replace the rears? If so, did the front sensors program? If they did the receiver is not the problem. You probably have bad new sensors or the dealer installed the wrong year parts. Sensors fit either '97-'00 or '01-'04 cars and are not interchangeable.

I've had a few problems getting my sensors to program and ended up using both a factory programming magnet as well as a magnet from a speaker to get them to program. I guess sometimes you just need to tag team the sensors.
