Anyone got pics of the apsis splash guards painted or unpainted on a Millenium Yellow vette? or anyother splash guard pics would do. I'm trying to gauge on whether or not to have them painted.
Hope the above pics help. I went with the black because they blend into the tire better. These came from MidAmerica. I like them but they are a pain when it comes to speed bumps etc.

Best looking splash guard on a C5 is the C6Z. The C6Z is a little wider then the standard C6 guard and once modified and mounted it looks like it came from the factory on the C5.
I cut and modified the C6Z versions. At every Vette show I get people asking me where they can get them. I did a pretty in depth write up on a thread awhile back. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...with-pics.html

A full size version of Colonel D's avatar would be a good start!
I would not consider myself a skilled craftsman so I think anyone could tackle this mod with a few hours, a dremel and some sandpaper. The tough part about making a set is that the body is going to be slightly difference car to car. Look at the splash guards on the C6Zs at the next car show your at. Some fit perfect and some have gaps. As you can read on my other thread this set was actually my second set. The slimmer version that you see pictured above really look sleek and factory. The bigger versions just jumped out at you.

I was one of the early modders for the C6 fender guards. I never felt the fender looked "finished"
Gotta say, the sleeker version looks really cool.
Maybe we shamed GM into producing a better version?????
Actually the slim version starts with the same base splash guard from a C6Z. I just cut them slimmer based on another thread from a couple years ago. That owner actually had them covered in carbon fiber wrap I think.

Here is another pic with some better lighting:
by chance u dont still have your first set, if so and u wanna sell pm me.
The C6Z splash guards do look good. Have you noticed a difference with them on? In terms of keeping stuff off the paint?
Yeah totally. Even when I use tire dressing that slings I don't see a speck on the rear quarter. Can't say the same for the front. If you go with with splash guards consider keeping them black. They blend really nice with the tires and don't jump out.
