Default Here we go again.. Vette down...

I had to post a video this time cuz I don't think anyone would believe a Z could break down so many times in such a short period of time. I was just running to the local grocery store. Just easin' along enjoying the weather....

Clunk, clunk, clunk... done. Again.

I can't keep up this whole "unconditional love" thingy anymore. I can't even imagine what has broken this time.

I think I'm gonna puke.

At least I got to enter a Corvette show.. once. I don't think me and this Z are gonna see eachother again. And to think, I was just taking pics of it last night...

Ohhh no, not again! I hope you take it to another shop. Good luck with the repairs and I hope it's nothing major.

Didn't you just get this one?

WTF? Sell it and get another. I've had 2 without issues. It's hardly hit and miss with Vettes. So I'm surprised.

Nice pics, would have liked to hear more on the symptoms. Wouldn't turn over? Would Turn but not fire? Would fire but smoothly? Bad noises? Etc...

Wife thinks same thing about my '95 M3....though it does do my 70m commute day and and day out...almost always for 5yrs now.

Every single time it has broken down, I've been driving it. First time, in town bringing my son to school. Second time, leaving work, tired and chill. Third time... can't remember. I've never had a "not turning over' equation.

I'm always in motion and running. Just running normal, with traffic. No racing. No redline. No romping.

These LS6's were made for abuse even if that was an issue, problem is, I've never driven the car that way. It's always been my DD.

I wish it was a "wouldn't turn over" issue...

I really do.

this car is a LEMON. That's all there is to it. I've lawyered up. Gonna take the next step Monday.

I can't thing of anything left to repair-- and its 100% bone stock.

Carmax and Autocheck show nothing out of the ordinary.

It's been to every shop except a High Performance shop. Gonna hit up Rick Hollenbeck (forum vendor) and see if I can get it there.

I've been everywhere.

Was it engine related? Did you pull the codes before it was towed?

I remember a gorgeous '98 black/tan/tan 'vert with chrome wheels that a guy bought, went through repeated/expensive issues. It broke my heart when the guy sold it. He said he'd never buy another Corvette again. (it was his first)

The car was a head turner, stunning to look at, but I wouldn't want to be the owner.

I wouldn't be comfortable selling that car privately, but I'd trade it in a heartbeat. Sure, you'll take a bit of a beating from a dealer, but then they can deal with the pi$$ed off consumer that buys it. Sorry to hear about your latest problems. Good luck.

that really sucks man i've had my '98 for over 3 years and it's been almost problem free and i get on the gas plenty and it's a full bolt on cammed car. I've had the Multifunction switch, Oil Pressure Sensor and i have the fuel guage issue(not lately as i've been dumping Techron in there). I would be just as upset as you if i had constant issues and they weren't even warranted

Yeah, but if its just quiting, its usually something relatively simple, from vapor lock, fuel pump, bad gas cap not venting, bad crank sensor, coils, crap in the tank, etc. Of course if your not a guy who can work on cars yourself, it can be very tough and frustrating. Every time I work on mine, its an excuse to get some more cool tools!

Man, you are having some really bad luck with that car. Hope this time it is something very minor - and perhaps once you get it fixed it is time to sell it.

With you having a new motor I can't believe that it is motor related. If the motor is just dying on you, then you have a fuel issue (could be a pump, clogged filter, etc) or an electrical issue (is any wiring touching a header, or something loose?). Everything else is new, according to you, so I can't believe it is mechanical. When it died out, what did it do? Did it go slowly, no power, or just cut out? When you tried to restart, what did it do? Did it turn over, or nothing? Symptoms will help give you clues as where to look. Good luck with fixing it. It is a beautiful car.
