Final consultation and close the issue, it is possible to verify the number of motor without disassembling?
if so, the customs agent could not corroborate the information and then placed on paper only 6 digits of the VIN ...
No disassembly required. From what I've read, the Engine serial numbers on the right front of the block, but the Vin is stamped on the Left rear. Mirror and a flashlight.
So if you fill out the paperwork with a number that contains the last 6 of your VIN, who'll know the difference if it's not right. I doubt anyone there is going to double check you.
Fill out the paperwork and get your car back.
Hate to say it but thats what I was going to suggest
Worst case scenario is that they open it, know where to look, and they get the number for you, which will match all the other numbers on the car to the extent possible by what GM actualy does.
Whats on the paper you submitt may not be exactly right, or complete, but the actual number on the engine will in fact match up to whatever its supposed to be according to the vin.
If they know enough to tell you what you wrote was wrong, they would have to know where to look and also know enough to tell you the number on the engine is right for the vehicle.
