With the stock radiator and thermostat, I would say it is normal. Just do the usual checking that there is no debris in front of your radiator, and that your fans turn on with your A/C on. Even without your A/C on, your fans should be kicking on around the 225-230 mark to bring down temps. A bit more work will involve pulling your thermostat and checking its performance, and hosing out your radiator for any debris. If it still bothers you, I believe you can change your fan temp activation setting and put in a lower temp thermostat. Good luck.
i thought it was normal after looking at some other posts, my first vette , and just getting to know her, its a little scary to see the temp climb to 225 or 230 at a traffic lite 170 miles from home, but it returns to 194 when i get going. thankyou for the imput.
Unless your original stock fan settings have been altered...

"The low speed cooling fan is commanded on when the coolant temperature reaches 108°C (226°F). It is turned off if the coolant temperature lowers to 104°C (219°F). The high speed cooling fan is commanded on when the coolant temperature reaches 113°C (235°F). It is turned off if the coolant temperature lowers to 108°C (226°F). When the A/C is on and the coolant temperature reaches 85°C (185°F), the low speed cooling fan will be turned on at vehicle speeds less than 56 kPh (35 mph)."
