Just took my 2003 C5 to the dealer for winter prep before putting it into storage for the Michigan winter. This was the first chance I've had since I bought the car in August to look at the underbody. I especially wanted to check out the shocks as I noticed that the car with only 11,600 miles was a "bit stiff". As I suspected the temporary plastic stuffers on the shocks had never been removed. I now wonder if the reason that I got the car at such a reasonable price was that the original owner felt that the ride was too rough His loss my gain. I love the car just as much now and my wife loves the smooth ride.
Bwahhhh haaaaaa haaaa so much for dealer prep! Same thing happened on my 2010 Evo but I caught it on the test drive. They were all 'oh we'll have to have a word with our service dept about that'
Gee no kidding huh?

My '03 QuickSilver mn6 has personality. I have the "F55" suspension and I can make it ride stiff or smooth. There is a noticeable difference. Especially under 'spirited' conditions. Yee-Haa !!
I took mine out after reading a post on here. I am betting the previous owner barely drove it because of the ride. Hard to believe 6 years later they were still in there.
Stories like this make you wonder about dealer prep!! At least they didn't use them on the Z51 shocks!! Sounds like you got a good deal because of them,,,congrats!!:cheers :
It seems a lot of places just don't have a professional attitude toward their customers any more. For example, I've been trying to get our pool painted by a local company. I made the arrangements last April and they agreed to have it painted before June. When did they finally do the job? Yesterday. 'Nuff said.

Hmmm something to think about, does anyone have a picture of what this looks like or is it an obvious piece.
Same thing happened to me. I bought it with almost 22k miles, and drove it almost a full year when I kept reading about the stuffers. After noticing there wasn't much difference in the two ride modes, I took a closer look. The fronts had been removed, but the rears were still in place.
